Firm Profile

History:

Joseph Newhouse and Stephen Vogler formed Newhouse & Vogler in January 1990. The firm has grown steadily over the years and currently supports a staff of 12 to 15 professionals and support personnel.

Joe and Steve bring nearly 60 years of experience of providing auditing, accounting, tax and advisory services throughout the State of Alaska.

Joe started his career and spent 10 years with another local Alaskan firm after being recruited from Eastern Washington University in 1980. He was the audit manager when he left that firm.  Joe also has had the unique experience of living and working in Bethel, Alaska, which has allowed him to gain a perspective and appreciation of the real Alaska and it's culture.

Steve began his accounting career in Alaska with the national accounting firm Touche Ross & Co. after being recruited from Colorado State in 1983 holding a Masters in Taxation. In 1985 he left to practice with another local Alaskan firm where he was tax manager when he left that firm.
